“During the 1980s, I had Technical Oversight responsibility for the introduction of personal computers into the AT&T product line while with AT&T Bell Laboratories. We encountered a severe Electronic Magnetic Emissions (EMI) problem with a personal computer and peripheral modem board that AT&T was imminently about to launch.
We tapped our internal consultants in this area who had considerable knowledge, but could not come up with a solution to this perplexing problem. I was given Michael's name as an expert in this field, and there began an over 25 year business relationship with a gentleman for whom I have enormous respect. He quickly was able to resolve our problem - demonstrating that EMI work is more of an art than a science.
Michael came up with a solution that was manufactureable and met the approval of our off shore European vendor who originally were very suspect of this. I met Michael King in July 2003 while I was a design engineer and Michael was hired as a consultant and advisor to guide several projects I was also working on. Michael coached me professionally in electrical project engineering. I remained in contact with Michael King and developed an increasingly personal relationship with him. He graciously took me on as a mentee and I acquired a mentor.
I want to take this opportunity to describe the amazing skills as a mentor and coach that Michael has demonstrated over the years that I have the fortune of working with him. When I met him I was living in uncertainty, having almost daily emotional breakdowns and in general an unhealthy approach to life. In less than a year I had waned off most of my deeper issues, and my self-negative thoughts disappeared as my emotional turmoil vanished.
With my newly found confidence, I joined another company in November 2004 as a field clinical engineer working exclusively with high profile customers, physicians and surgeons, in the operating room environment. "Many have wished they could encounter a “nagual” (mentor) like don Juan Matus was reported to be by Carlos Castaneda. This desire is not for the purpose of becoming an all powerful “sorcerer” but for the purpose of achieving a truly higher state of being. Michael King is to me as don Juan Matus was to Carlos Castaneda.
Carlos Castaneda described the processes of his evolution and elevated state of awareness as he journeyed through his many books. He was guided in his experiences by the sure hand of don Juan Matus. Whether his experiences were fictional or not is immaterial: something within the narratives struck a nerve, an intrigue, and this response has attracted millions. Anyone with half a brain that can question their references of self may soon realize that the internal inefficiencies, conflicts, dependencies and guilt that they were fed as a child, what they were taught to believe, what imprinted them to effect their state of being, what was later reinforced by consensus reality, may be highly suspect, and the true reality may be something very different than that represented by the media and what I have come to call “institutionality” (which means the mandates of social institutions that cause one to be dependent upon those institutions themselves). Working with Michael (in my opinion) would suggest that you will eventually feel supremely privileged in finding the freedom of discovery within yourself. Prepare, however, to have every weakness, every opinion, every self-important issue, every fear, every low self-esteem issue probed and laid bare. The process for myself has been at once occasionally painful, upsetting, followed by discovery and elation. The self-inspection and resulting knowledge may, as Michael often states, change your life forever. Castaneda related that “knowledge” is the “way of freedom”. "One day I went on the internet looking for any websites having to do with don Juan Matus, the teacher, written about by Carlos Castaneda. I had a feeling that through some website I might meet someone who would be able to guide me and help to accelerate my growth. I was at a point where books were no longer sufficient as my only teacher. To make a long story short, the first website I found was very interesting, and my intuition prompted me to write an e-mail to the site. Now the site was not Michael’s, but because of that letter I was introduced to him by the owner of the website. This was about three years ago. I have communicated with Michael ever since.
In reading comments made by Michael to my questions and statements, I was impressed by his intellect, the breadth of his understanding and his unconditional acceptance of my humanness." My joy was immense as I quickly realized that he embodied all of the attributes which I had aspired to for myself. It was like finding a gold mine. I analyze everything, and it soon became apparent that these qualities sprang from a person who had expanded the barriers of his perception beyond anyone whom I have ever met. We cannot understand what we cannot perceive.
He is also a person with great personal power because he has eliminated personal importance, and self-pity. Michael is truly in charge of his inner world, his psychological world. Because of this, events in the outside world do not touch him. In times of difficulty I often draw upon an axiom which he related to me. "All problems are actually management problems, not emotional problems." He went on to explain that when one becomes emotionally upset over a situation, the person has to deal with the emotions first, and then with the real problem. This is not efficient.
One of the most progressive concepts that Michael presented to me was that I was responsible for my actions in dreams. One of the basic tenants of the philosophy which Michael teaches, is that we must take responsibility for all of our decisions. I have lived by this idea for years, except that I had always been able to excuse my actions in dreams. Through the gift of this new perspective, I was able to understand that I had issues having to do with deep-seated feelings of anger and aggression. It was through this process that I was able to remove the blanket of denial which prevented me from working with these issues. After all, we cannot work on a problem if we are not aware that it exists.
Because of his broad perspective, and the diminished barriers toward perception, Michael can help one to see problems in a three-dimensional manner. He has guided me in discovering the solution to problems both spiritual and mundane.
Above every thing else, he has helped me to learn to love my Self unconditionally. What more could one ask for?"
